India celebrated Indian army day on 15th of January and remembered our first Commander in chief of Independent india Sir Kodandera Madappa Cariappa .He was the first commander in chief of independant india after he took the command of indian army from british General roy butcher showing a pivotal moment marking true indian millitary sovereignty.
JAN 15 1949 Was the day when this historic transfer of power was done which occured 18 months after independance .In 1965 war , When his son was captured by pakistani forces , and president offered to release him . Chief honourfully said He is not only my son , he is the Son of india , treat like other soldiers . This was the proof of leadership and honourship. Ok
